These advanced moves can take your Tetris® playing to all new heights. In these tutorials you will learn how to drop pieces in a more efficient manner, perform a T-Spin and execute combination scoring that can really add up to big scoring bonuses. When you're done with these Advanced Tutorials, you'll have an edge over most Tetris players!

 

Dropping a Tetrimino

To speed up the action, press the DOWN Arrow key to drop the Tetrimino at a quicker pace (Soft Drop). To instantly drop the Tetrimino, press the Space bar (Hard Drop).

Objective

Soft drop the first Tetrimino into the gap of Blocks in the Matrix. Hard drop the second Tetrimino to perform a Tetris.

 

Performing a T-Spin

To perform a T-Spin, first create a T-shaped hole in the Matrix (a T-Slot). More the T-Tetrimino into the T-Slot and rotate it before it comes to rest. For big points, perform a T-Spin that clears lines.

Objective

Set up a T-Slot. Rotate the T-Tetrimino counterclockwise in it to perform a T-Spin.

 

Scoring a Combo

In some Tetris games, you can score bonus points when you perform a sequence of line clears with consecutive Tetriminos. This is called a Combination (or Combo). The value of the bonus depends on the length of the Combo sequence.

Objective

Perform a sequence of four Combos with the given Tetriminos.
